Technical difficulties at Ch. 7
Channel 7 anchor Joanna Pasceri and the station's other anchors have done something extremely rare on newscasts lately. They have apologized for all the technical glitches that the ABC affiliate has been dealing with lately.
Things have gotten increasingly confusing during newscasts.. In the station's first on-air apology over the weekend, Pasceri blamed new equipment the station is now using.
Bill Ransom, the station's general manager, said Tuesday that a new production control system has been malfunctioning.
"It is causing tapes to freeze or not run, and sometimes it has an impact on the audio level," said Ransom. "We're working with the manufacturer to get the situation corrected."
In other words, blame automation and not the station's staffers.
