Visions of Eli Stone

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- I got the most comments and emails last season about ABC's "Eli Stone," which stars Jonny Lee Miller as a lawyer who has visions that eventually led some people to believe he is a prophet.

But I imagine many viewers didn't envision that in real life, Miller has a pretty thick British accent. It is so pronounced that a critic at meetings here asked Miller if he uses his normal accent when not filming or the American one he uses on the show.

"I do my normal accent," said Miller. "It gets a little weird otherwise."

He added that talking with his normal accent also helps him use sounds that prepare him for using his American accent on the show.

The show will accentuate some different things next season, according to executive producer Greg Berlanti.

"If last year, (Eli was asking) 'did this happen to me or not? Is it something in my brain or something more miraculous?' Eli sort of embraces that part of this year. And it becomes more about how much the people around him embrace that or not as it becomes more public."
