"48 Hours" postpones episode with Buffalo ties

By Alan Pergament

I hope you weren't planning to stay home at 10 tonight to watch the "48 Hours" episode on CBS about the 2011 murder of University at Buffalo Law School graduate Lanny Horwitz in Jupiter, Fla.

Because CBS pulled the episode, titled "Love, Hate & Obsession," Friday at practically the 11th hour in favor of another murder case that was decided late Friday afternoon.

In the Horwitz case, a Florida jury sentenced Buffalo native Donna Carnevale Horwitz to life in prison for fatally shooting her former husband.

The replacement episode is about the murder trial of Frederick Mueller, who was charged with killing his wife, Dr. Leslie Mueller, in Colorado five years ago. His first trial ended in a mistrial. The second trial was decided Friday.

CBS said the episode about the Horwitz case will be rescheduled but it doesn't yet have an air date.
