CBS newcomer to do play-by-play of Bills game Sunday

By Alan Pergament

The Twitterverse has been pretty much hammering many of the veterans who have called Buffalo Bills games this National Football League season.

So it will be interesting to see how Bills fans treat a CBS play-by-play newcomer Sunday when the Bills visit the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Andrew Catalon has the play-by-play assignment alongside analyst Rich Gannon, according to CBS.

I don't know much about Catalon except that he worked at a NBC affiliate in Albany for a decade and now works for the CBS Sports Network on cable.

He reportedly worked a Bills-Cincinnati game two seasons ago, but I can't say I remember him. That's probably a good sign.

Marv Albert, who has taken his share of criticism on Twitter, was originally scheduled to call the game alongside Gannon, the former NFL veteran quarterback who should be able to assess how Bills rookie quarterback EJ Manuel is performing in a relatively meaningless game.
