Niagara Falls announces improvements at two city parks

After hearing public outcries from neighbors in one case, the City of Niagara Falls announced Sunday it will be making improvements to two parks.

The planned work at Caravelle Drive Park, at Caravelle and Marine Memorial drives, and Legends Park, located near 11th Street and Portage Road, is being done before a citywide parks planning process is officially completed, the city said in a news release.

Caravelle Drive Park will get a new playground, picnic tables, a drinking fountain and basketball courts. Neighborhood residents have raised their concerns about the condition of the park at recent City Council meetings.

Legends Park will get a new asphalt track, drinking fountains and benches.

More information about the "City in a Park" master plan for the parks can be found at nfcityinapark.com and at facebook.com/CityInAPark.
