Further discussion of Schoellkopf site planned

The Niagara Falls Historic Preservation Commission plans to take up the issue of conditions at an historic site in the Niagara Gorge later this month.

The commission had sought information from the state about how officials are handling the site of the former Schoellkopf Power Station while construction continues on a boat storage facility for the Maid of the Mist.

Members of the commission met with officials from the New York Power Authority at the site and are slated to revisit the topic.

The commission will meet at 6 p.m. Aug. 21, a meeting rescheduled from Aug. 7, in Room 117 of City Hall, 745 Main St. Here's its agenda:
