Meet the Candidates night scheduled for Niagara Falls City Council candidates

The candidates hoping to win one of three open seats this November on the Niagara Falls City Council are scheduled to participate in a question-and-answer session on Aug. 26.

The event will be held at 6 p.m. in the Rapids Theatre, 1711 Main St. (Here's the Facebook event page.)

All seven announced candidates  - four Democrats and three Republicans - have agreed to attend, said Rick Crogan, one of the organizers.

There will also be seven panelists asking questions, including educators, concerned citizens and business people, he said. Each panelist will be allowed to ask two questions and candidates will also be given five minutes to talk about their platform.

The names of the panelists are being kept secret before the event because organizers don't want the candidates getting to them before the event, Crogan said.

This is event will happen the same week as a live online debate on between the candidates in the Democratic primary. That's happening at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30.
