Second Starbucks planned in Niagara Falls

A Starbucks is planned for the corner of Niagara Falls Boulevard and Factory Outlet Boulevard.

The store, which will have a drive-thru, will be part of a retail plaza that will include an LA Fitness opening later this year.

The national coffee giant will take up 1,750 square feet in a 6,000-square-foot structure to be built as part of the plaza. The use of the rest of the building has not been disclosed to city officials.

A representative with Benderson Development, which owns the parcel, did not return a call and email seeking further information.

Plans for the property also include constructing a 9,295-square-foot building where a Scottish Inn motel is to be demolished.

It will be the second location in the Falls for Starbucks, which is already in the Sheraton at the Falls on Third Street.

The new location is right off the Niagara Falls Boulevard exit of Interstate 190.
