A $25.3 million project with an upscale hotel, apartments and retail space in downtown Niagara Falls is moving forward.

As reported in a story published on BuffaloNews.com late Monday afternoon, the Hamister Group, the City of Niagara Falls and the state's USA Niagara Development Corp. have completed a development agreement for the project at 310 Rainbow Blvd.

The move means the Hamister Group can pursue a brand for the hotel.

In a written statement issued through a spokesperson late Monday, USA Niagara President Christopher J. Schoepflin said, "We are so very pleased to finalize this $25 million agreement with the city and Mr. Hamister to allow him to get started on the project and look forward to turning our focus to the next in a number of projects as laid out in the Governor's vision for downtown Niagara Falls."
