Public meetings in Niagara Falls government this week

The Housing Authority board of commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the authority’s executive offices, 744 10th St.

The City Council will hold a Committee of the Whole meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, followed by a regular meeting at 6 in City Hall, 745 Main St.

'Disco Night' to benefit Falls firefighters' Christmas toy fund

A "Disco Night" fundraiser to benefit the Niagara Falls Firefighters' Christmas toy fund will be held at 8 p.m. Nov. 23 at the Elks Lodge, 1805 Fashion Outlet Blvd.

There will be prizes for the best costumes, as well as pizza, wings and a cash bar.

Niagara Falls Culinary Institute to hold open house next week

Niagara County Community College's Niagara Falls Culinary Institute will hold an open house for prospective students from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 13.

The event will include tours of the Old Falls Street campus, workshops on financial aid, information on student housing and the chance to meet faculty and students.

Niagara Falls City Council election results

Democrat Andrew P. Touma was the top vote getter in the Niagara Falls City Council race.

The three Democratic candidates took home the victory in Tuesday's election for City Council, per unofficial results from the Niagara County Board of Elections.

Andrew P. Touma - 4,208

Kristen M. Grandinetti - 3,736

Charles A. Walker - 3,464
