You've done it for baby animals at the zoo. Why not two of the boats at an international tourist destination?
Hornblower Cruises is holding a naming contest for the two catamarans that will carry passengers on trips below the falls starting next year.
“We are inviting students and staff at schools from across Canada and around the world to be a part of history - by naming our boats,” Mory DiMaurizio, general manager of Hornblower Niagara Cruises, said in a written statement. “We are looking for the two perfect names that best reflect Niagara Falls and Canada. We’ve had some excellent submissions – but the contest is not over yet.”
You can enter the contest by visiting the company’s Facebook page, facebook.com/Niagaracruises. The contest is open until Sunday. The winning names will be announced on January 1. Winners will receive a VIP stay in a luxury Niagara hotel for five nights with meals and entertainment included.
The company is accepting submissions from students and staff, class project submissions and whole school submissions. The winning submission will be rewarded a VIP ‘Voyage to the Falls’ boat tour for the entire school.
The boats are expected to be shipped to the Falls in January.
