Falls lawmakers to consider appointments to Tourism Advisory Board

The Niagara Falls City Council on Monday night will consider appointments to the 16-member Tourism Advisory Board.

Five individuals are up for reappointment: Adrienne Bedgood, Laurie Davis, Mark Mistriner, Gay Molnar and Lisa Vitello.

Memorial dedicates new $2 million facility

Officials at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center today dedicated a new $2 million facility for an outpatient behavioral health program that combines a variety of services under one roof.

The Niagara Wellness Connection Center, housed on the sixth floor of Memorial's Schoellkopf building, brings together behavioral health services with primary care, wellness services, and community and social support services, the hospital said in a news release.

Grandinetti wants Falls to explore use of real-time data in management

Councilwoman Kristen M. Grandinetti wants the City of Niagara Falls to explore using a management strategy using real-time data to help its response in severe winter weather.

Grandinetti said the strategy is in use in the city's police department. Police Superintendent Bryan DalPorto is scheduled to address the City Council about it during Monday night's meeting.

Dyster to deliver State of the City on Feb. 5

Updated: 3:46 p.m.

Niagara Falls Mayor Paul A. Dyster will deliver his State of the City address at 6 p.m. Feb. 5 in the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, 28 Old Falls St.

The event is open to the public. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

Niagara Falls City Council to hold public forums

Niagara Falls lawmakers will conduct public forums on weekends every other month to increase dialogue with city residents, the City Council announced Tuesday.

Dubbed the "Neighbor to Neighbor" series, members of the public are invited to talk about "any and all topics" in a setting characterized as less formal than Council Chambers.

The first session will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday Feb. 15 in the LaSalle branch of Niagara Falls Public Library, 8728 Buffalo Ave.

Niagara Falls School Board to assess polling site changes

The Niagara Falls School Board will hold a special meeting Thursday night with an agenda that includes talking about recent changes to polling sites.

An agenda for the meeting has not yet been released, but a district spokesperson confirmed the polling place discussion.

Niagara Falls accepting proposals to run Hyde Park Golf Course restaurant

The City of Niagara Falls is taking proposals to run the restaurant at Hyde Park Golf Course.

Proposals must be submitted by 11 a.m. Feb. 3.
