Falls police buying $341k in SWAT gear for narcotics enforcement

The Niagara Falls Police Department's SWAT Division is geting some new gear and some new wheels.

A $250,000 armored vehicle along with other tactical gear was unanimously approved for purchase by the City Council on Monday.

The equipment is primarily directed at narcotics enforcement, according to a memo to the Council about the purchase.

The city will use casino revenues to pay for the equipment.
