Orchard Park man gets $20K settlement from City of Niagara Falls

An Orchard Park man will receive a $20,000 settlement from the City of Niagara Falls after a city worker dropped a light pole on his foot.

Bradley R. Day was at the city's Department of Public Works yard on New Road in July 2012, attempting to buy some excess light poles from the city.

A worker accidentally dropped a pole on Day's foot, breaking the foot as well as three toes.

City attorneys recommended that officials settle the case, and the settlement was unanimously approved tonight by the City Council.
