Funds proposed for education on new garbage and recycling program

When the city gives residents new recycling and garbage totes later this year, it will also try to teach the public the new requirements of the program.

City lawmakers tonight will consider spending about $59,000 in casino funds on a pilot education program called SWEET, or Sanitation Waste Education Enforcement Team. (For more information about how the SWEET pilot plan would work, click the "backup documentation" link below and go to page 12.)
