Petitions will be available starting Monday for those interested in running for the Niagara Falls School Board this spring.
Those interested in being a candidate for School Board can pick up petitions from the District Clerk's Office in the administration building, 630 66th St., between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Democrat Andrew P. Touma was the top vote getter in the Niagara Falls City Council race.
The three Democratic candidates took home the victory in Tuesday's election for City Council, per unofficial results from the Niagara County Board of Elections.
Andrew P. Touma - 4,208
Kristen M. Grandinetti - 3,736
Charles A. Walker - 3,464

I've also compiled a list of each candidate's endorsements. In parentheses next to the candidates' names are the lines each has on the ballot.
Samuel F. Fruscione (C, I) - Niagara County Conservative Party, Niagara County Independence Party, Laborers Local 91 and Niagara Orleans Labor Council AFL-CIO.

The City Council will hold a Committee of the Whole meeting (agenda) at 5 p.m. Monday, followed by a regular meeting at 6 in City Hall, 745 Main St. (board packet)
The School Board will hold an agenda review session (agenda) at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the district’s central office, 630 66th St. The board’s regular meeting (agenda) will follow at 7.

A forum for City Council candidates will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 30 in the second-floor auditorium of Earl W. Brydges Public Library, 1425 Main St.
The event is sponsored by the Niagara Falls Block Club Council, the Niagara Falls chapter of the NAACP and the Kiwanis Club of Niagara Falls.
It will be moderated by Corey Bower, an assistant professor of leadership and politics at Niagara University.

Robert J. Elder, one of three Republican-endorsed candidates running for City Council next month, has dropped out of the race.
Elder notified Niagara Falls Republican Committee Chairwoman Patricia Castillo Tuesday afternoon via text message, Castillo said.
Elder told The Buffalo News today he was dropping out for personal reasons.
